Discover the best boat routes from Su Giudeu: Tuerredda, Capo Malfatano, Cala Zafferano, Su Giudeu Island and the caves near Pinus Village.

Plan your route

Two routes, one coastline of unforgettable stops

Chia boat itineraries start from the WaveProject base near Su Giudeu, one of the best departure points for exploring the South Sardinia coast. From here, you can choose a west route toward Tuerredda, Capo Malfatano and Cala Zafferano, or an east route toward Su Giudeu Island, Sa Colonia and the Pinus Village caves.

The right route depends on your time, sea conditions, wind direction and the kind of day you want. A half-day rental is ideal for shorter coastal stops and swimming breaks, while a full-day experience gives you more time to reach the most iconic destinations toward Teulada.

Before departure, the WaveProject team explains the route, anchoring rules, safe swimming areas and weather conditions, so you can enjoy the coast with confidence.

How to choose your Chia boat itinerary

West Route: Tuerredda & Zafferano

The west route is the most iconic of the Chia boat itineraries. It takes you toward Teulada and includes some of the most famous destinations in South Sardinia: Tuerredda, the Piscine di Malfatano and Cala Zafferano. It is usually the best option for guests who want postcard water, longer navigation and a full sense of discovery.

East Route: Su Giudeu & the caves

The east route is shorter but very scenic. It is ideal when you want a relaxed coastal itinerary near Chia, with Su Giudeu Island, Sa Colonia and the sea caves near Pinus Village. It can be a better choice when time is limited or when the weather suggests staying closer to the base.

Navigation and weather

South Sardinia is shaped by wind. The Mistral can sometimes leave selected coastal areas flatter, while strong Sirocco may make some bays less comfortable. Always check the weather and ask the WaveProject team before deciding the final route.

Eco-friendly boating

When anchoring near Chia, Tuerredda or Cala Zafferano, use sandy patches and avoid Posidonia seagrass. Posidonia is essential for the health of the Mediterranean coast, so responsible anchoring is part of every good itinerary.
