Marine Biologist Tour
Snorkeling & Marine Education in the Protected Area of Chia
Not just snorkeling — marine education
This is practical marine education carried out in the sea and with the sea. Our Marine Biologist Tour is an immersive journey through the Protected Area of Capo Spartivento, where a real marine biologist swims with your group, identifies species on the spot, and explains the vital role of each organism in the Mediterranean ecosystem. You'll explore coves, cliffs, and underwater Posidonia prairies — and learn how to experience the sea without leaving a trace.
Milano Marine: comfort meets science
The tour departs aboard the Milano Marine, chosen for its stability and space — a perfect platform for briefings, gear preparation, and safe water entry via a pro-grade ladder. The biologist leads an eco-briefing on board before every stop, explaining what to look for and how to observe without disturbing. We access Capo Malfatano and other high-biodiversity coastal habitats directly from the sea.
Life beneath the surface

Every outing is different
Rocks & Boulders
Schools of Saddled Seabream, Two-banded Seabream, colourful Rainbow Wrasse, and octopuses hidden in crevices — the rocky habitats are full of life.
Posidonia Meadows
The true nursery of the Mediterranean. Rich communities of small organisms, sea urchins, and invertebrates among leaves and rhizomes.
The Expert's Eye
Your biologist is always in the water with the group — identifying species, distinguishing similar organisms, and answering every question on the spot.
Zero Impact Policy
We never touch or move organisms. Observation takes place with maximum respect for the marine habitat — learn to experience the sea sustainably.
All Ages Welcome
No diving experience needed — just basic swimming ability. The biologist adapts the tour for families with children and first-time snorkellers.
Eco-Briefing On Board
Before each stop, the biologist explains what to look for and how to observe — turning every swim into a real naturalistic exploration.

Common questions
Do I need diving experience?
No — this is a snorkeling tour, not a dive. You only need basic swimming ability. The biologist adapts the experience for all levels, including families with children and first-time snorkellers.
Is snorkeling equipment included?
Yes, full snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins) and life vests are included for all participants. You don't need to bring anything except a towel and sunscreen.
How many people are on the tour?
We limit groups to 8–10 guests maximum to ensure a high-quality educational experience. The biologist can give personal attention and everyone can observe the marine life up close.
Where does the tour go?
The tour explores the Protected Area of Capo Spartivento, including Capo Malfatano and other high-biodiversity coastal habitats. The exact stops depend on sea conditions and marine life sightings on the day.
Is this tour suitable for children?
Absolutely — it's one of our most family-friendly experiences. Children love spotting fish, starfish, and octopuses with the biologist. Life vests are provided in all sizes. Children should be comfortable in the water.
What will we see underwater?
Every outing is different, but common sightings include schools of Saddled Seabream, Rainbow Wrasse, octopuses, sea urchins, starfish, and the rich communities living in Posidonia meadows. The biologist identifies everything as you swim.
Where do we meet?
The tour departs from the Chia / Santa Margherita di Pula coast area. We send the exact meeting point via WhatsApp when you book.
