Before you book

How do I book a boat or experience?

Choose your boat or experience online and send a request through the booking page. The WaveProject team checks availability and sends a personal confirmation by email or WhatsApp.

When should I arrive before departure?

Please arrive about 20 minutes before departure at our meeting point in Chia / Su Giudeu. This gives enough time for check-in, payment details, safety briefing and boat explanation.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Your safety is our priority. If sea conditions are unsafe, WaveProject may reschedule your rental or experience for free. If rescheduling is not possible under the weather policy, a refund can be arranged.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, especially in July and August. Booking early helps secure the best boats, the best time slots and the right option for your group size and experience level.

Can I rent a boat without a license?

Yes. Selected 40 HP boats can be rented without a nautical license, including Selva Marine, Salpa Soleil 20 and Mar-sea Comfort. Before departure, our team provides a full safety and navigation briefing.

What types of boats do you offer?

WaveProject offers no-license dinghies, premium RIBs, luxury yacht charters, sailing experiences and water activities. The fleet includes easy self-drive boats, license-required RIBs, skippered luxury options and experiences such as jet ski, SUP and towable water games.

Is fuel included in the rental price?

Fuel is not usually included for standard boat rentals and is calculated at the end based on actual consumption. Some skippered packages, such as selected luxury RIB or guided experiences, may include fuel in the package price. Always check the specific boat page or ask us before booking.

Can I hire a skipper?

Yes. If you prefer to relax, you can request a skipper for selected boats. On luxury vessels and yacht charters, the captain is usually included to provide a smoother and more premium experience.

Where can I go with the boat?

Depending on the boat, weather and rental duration, you can explore the coast from Chia toward Tuerredda, Capo Malfatano and the Teulada area. Popular stops include Cala Cipolla, Su Giudeu Island, Tuerredda and the natural pools of Malfatano.

Do you explain how to drive the boat?

Yes. Before departure, our team explains the boat, the safety equipment, the route, anchoring rules and the local navigation limits. The briefing is designed to make beginners feel confident before leaving the beach.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, many WaveProject rentals are suitable for families. Life jackets are available and our team helps you choose the most comfortable boat and route based on the age of the children and the sea conditions.

Can I anchor anywhere?

No. You should anchor only where it is safe and allowed, preferably on sandy patches. Avoid anchoring on Posidonia seagrass, which is essential for the Mediterranean ecosystem and the clarity of the water.

Meeting point, parking and what to bring

Is there parking near Chia Beach?

Yes, there is paid parking near the entrance of Su Giudeu beach in Chia. We send the exact GPS location and meeting point by WhatsApp to guests before the rental or experience.

Are dogs allowed on the boats?

Well-behaved dogs may be allowed on selected rental boats. Please tell us in advance so we can confirm the best option and help you prepare fresh water and shade protection for your pet.

What should I bring?

Bring drinking water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a beach towel and a protected phone or camera. For longer rentals, snacks and extra water are strongly recommended.

WaveProject operates in Chia, South Sardinia, with a main base near Su Giudeu / Arveskida Beach Club and another operating point in the Santa Margherita di Pula area.
